A squeak or rattle that comes from inside your fridge is likely caused by the circulation fan, which can be accessed through the interior panel at the back of the main compartment. Damage, corrosion, and debris can prevent this fan from circulating properly, warm up the fridge, and cause noisy operation. You may be able to clean it out or a replacement fan may be needed.
Mar 06, 2020 A dripping sound can be due to the normal defrosting of the freezer. Popping sounds tend to be associated with the interior wall of the fridge contracting when the refrigerator cools or defrosts. This can often happen more at night when temperatures, in general, drop in the home. Your Frigidaire refrigerator door has a small notched plastic ring that surrounds the hinge pin and helps to close the door. If the door begins to make a popping noise when you open and close it. #1 PROBLEM: My freezer is making strange noises. LIKELY CULPRIT: The evaporator fan motor needs to be replaced. Keep in mind, though, that not all freezers will make exactly the same sound when this happens. Noises coming from the freezer may also be caused by: Clicking sounds from the ice maker as it harvests a batch of ice.
2. BUZZING OR HUMMING
Whirlpool Refrigerator Popping Noise
Refrigerators usually buzz or hum very quietly, but there may be an issue if these sounds become louder than conversation level. Buzzing could be something as simple as an internal light bulb reaching the end of its lifespan, or it could indicate an issue with the compressor—especially if the noise is loud or accompanied by a knocking sound.

3. RAPID TAPPING
This kind of noise could be caused by ice building up around the fan. A manual defrost will get rid of the noise, but it won't address the original cause of the buildup. The noise is likely to return once the ice accumulates again, so a service appointment may be your best option.
4. CLICKING
Kitchenaid Refrigerator Popping Noise
The occasional sound of quiet clicking is normal; it's usually the thermostat or defrost timer turning on and off. But a loud click is something else. If your fridge is too warm on the inside, there may be an issue with the condenser coil or start relay. The former can be addressed by cleaning; the latter may require a replacement part. Clicking could also mean that an icemaker has been incorrectly hooked up, especially if the clicks happen regularly.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Popping Noise
Just bought this fridge new at Menards in april of this year. We were on a budget and I realize we get what we pay for, but why is it making a constant popping noise while the compressor is running? its not during the defrost cycle though.. It sometimes is very loud and constant, and sometimes very quiet and sometimes I don't hear the popping at all. it cools just fine, but the popping noise is driving me nuts sometimes.. is there a fix?
Does anyone have or had the same problem that they have a solution for?? I have a service tech coming out Monday, but I have a feeling they will say its normal noise as the customer service rep told me over the phone, BUT THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS NORMAL NOISE> I understand during defrost cycle, but not while its running, HELP
